Should I put out moderator applications so people can apply for moderator? If so, how many questions should there be?

Here are some good questions you can post.

Name: Your Screenname
Why You Want it: Why do you want this position?
How old are you: Please do not lie
How Much a Week You Will be Online: We need staff who can be on as much as possible
How long have you been on this forums?:When you first signed up
Previous Experience: What other clans/games have you moderated in
Other Notes: Anything else?

No.

Why?

People will spam them a lot.

+

Moderators should be chosen on activeness seen by you and other moderators. If you follow applications and someone has been trolling and spamming when you are not on and you or no other moderators noticed it. You could end up with spamming choobers. <.< (( Do not ask for a definition of "Choobers" as I just thought of it. ))

I think it is not a bad idea. However, Parma makes a good point in saying that people will spam those forums.
Perhaps set a rule?
something like "you must have X posts before applying, and can apply only X times per (insert length of time here). If you post anyway, you will be banned for X days."

I like Rise's questions, they should be considered. Mod applications would be good, but we need to watch out for the spammers. Seeing as I've experienced 0 spamming this last day ive been browsing the forum, I dont think it will be much of an issue.

Well the posts made are not really regarded as spam but a lot of trolling for those who have accumulated close to 100 posts in only roughly 5 days. Yes it is easy on bigger forums for 20 post avg, but the size of the forums at the moment. Don't really need that many do they?

Also I am Random-Silhouette not Parma.

I don't think so BG. Mods should only be picked out by you and PMR, others should not ask for the job.

BG didn't you say somewhere that asking for being a mod = breaking all your chances to ever be one?

An application would be to ask wouldnt it?

BroKenGlass, it's a good idea and isn't a good idea. It's a good idea because some people can get a chance to be a Moderator. It's a bad idea, because, as Parma had said, the forums will be spammed. I also think that you and PawnMobilizer shoould pick out people that are 100% worthy. If they aren't, I don't think you should appoint them to be a Moderator, but at the same time, people can easily act nice on the forums, apply to be a Moderator here, and MASS-BAN users. Some Moderators may even DELETE or LOCK threads that are of SO much use. They MIGHT abuse their Moderator powers too. So, in conclusion to this, I don't think that having Moderator applications is a really good idea.

BG should only let 2 or 3 mods make it. They have to be active and all that. If you are not on for 2 days your removed from mod.

-yawnz-

We don't need moderators at the moment anyway. BG and PMR can hold it up and if more pg people come BG will make acceptable people mods.

Well, I think that the "mods cannot be offline for 2 days" rule rather ridiculous. I mean, at least if a mod gives BG an acceptable reason, he should be allowed leave. Almost everyone will have at least 2 days which they cannot or do not want to be offline. afro

I figure moderators should be Assistants first, or prime candidates for assistant should be. I don't think there should be mod applications because assistant applications should be just fine for picking.

So basically, you are suggesting that all applicants are like mod nominees? I see, to tell you the truth, I always thought this was the case, because I could not really figure out the real job of an assistant.
