Overview of PT Classes
This is SolidSnake's guide and overview of all Pawn Tactics classes.
[Assault]
Primary Weapon: M16
Damage: Moderate
Advantages: Accurate, two full blasts kill a recon
Good Against: Low health heavys, anyone at Long Range (LR)
Disadvantages: Bad for spraying due to the cooldown in between 3-shot bursts
Bad Against: High Health Heavys, CR (Close Range) medics, Recons cloaked
Picture:
Secondary: Glock
Damage: Low
Advantages: Infinite ammunition
Good Against: Nobody
Disadvantages: Low damage, relatively slow
Bad Against: All Classes
Picture:
Auxiliary 1: Grenades
Damage: High
Advantages: Explosive, High damage, extremely harmful to recons to clear out "safe" areas
Good Against: Recons, Anyone with low health
Disadvantages: Inaccurate, difficult to throw with the right strength
Bad Against: None
Picture:
Auxiliary 2: Flashbangs
Damage: None
Advantages: Excellent distraction, cover for skilled recon to sneak into enemy zone in Assault, quite easy to throw at right area
Good Against: Anyone with less map experience than you
Disadvantages: No damage, may not blind enemy/not work
Bad Against: People with map experience or high ground
Picture:
Snake's Take: This class is very versatile, aimed at taking over high ground with its grenade arsenal and protecting zones with its accurate M16, melee and speed.
Recommended for players of Low-Moderate skill.
[Support (aka Medic)]
Primary Weapon: SPAS-12
Damage: High at CR, Low at LR
Advantages: High damage at close range for pesky recons and heavys
Good Against: Heavys with 50- health, Recons at CR
Disadvantages: Inaccurate, Slow, Low damage over long distances
Bad Against: Full-Health Heavys, Maulers, Assault
Picture:
Secondary Weapon: USP
Damage: Low
Advantages: Fast and accurate, infinite ammunition
Good Against: None
Disadvantages: Low damage
Bad Against: All
Picture: Yes, I know its the same as the assault's. However, this is the picture that appears when it shows a class's weapons in the selection screen.
Auxiliaries: (See Assault)
Snake's Take: This class is deadly at short range, and great for team support. Don't get caught in crossfire with this class though, because its slow reload will kill you!
Recommended for players of High skill.
[Heavy]
Primary Weapon: Vulcan Minigun
Damage: Moderate-High
Advantages: Fast, pretty high damage, 300 ammunition
Good Against: Any Class Except Heavy
Disadvantages: Inaccurate over a relatively short stretch of ground
Bad Against: Heavys
Picture:
Secondary Weapon: Desert Eagle
Damage: Moderate
Advantages: Good damage for a handgun, infinite ammunition, Armor Piercing
Good Against: Heavys
Disadvantages: Slowest handgun in Pawn Tactics
Bad Against: All Classes Except Heavy
Picture:
Auxiliaries: Grenades (See Assault)
Snake's Take: This class is equipped to demolish anything and everything, but its slowness makes it horrible against anyone with higher ground.
Recommended for players of Low skill.
[Recon]
Primary Weapon: UMP
Damage: Moderate
Advantages: Confusing weapon, good finisher
Good Against: Anyone with low health, especially recons
Disadvantages: Inaccurate, Loud, uncloaks recon
Bad Against: Anyone with high health (excepting recons)
Picture:
Secondary Weapon: Nighthawk Pistol
Damage: Moderate
Advantages: Does not fully uncloak recon, good combo with K-Bar knife (1 knife and one Nighthawk shot=Medium armor Dead), Silent
Good Against: Any medium armor who has been knifed, low health heavys
Disadvantages: Low Ammo (32), not the fastest handgun around
Bad Against: Anyone with high health
Picture:
Auxiliary 1: K-Bar Knife
Damage: High
Advantages: One-Hit Recon Kill, 75% chance 1-hit medium armor kill
Good Against: Medium and Light Armor
Disadvantages: CR weapon, uncloaks recon fully
Bad Against: Heavy Armor, large groups
Picture:
Snake's Take: This class is good for sneaking in and around enemy zones. Designed for taking out the stragglers, this class is also very vulnerable to Minigun Fire, so stay out of a heavy's way unless they are at death's door.
Recommended for players of Moderate skill.
[Mauler]
Primary Weapon: Grenade Launcher
Damage: High
Advantages: Good placement is a 1-hit light or medium armor KO, Pretty fast
Good Against: Large groups with low health, Medium/Light Armor (Both at LR)
Disadvantages: 20 ammo, complicated aiming system, bad at close range or if an ally is in front of you as you may hurt yourself
Bad Against: Anyone CR, Heavys
Picture:
Secondary Weapon: Micro-Uzi
Damage: Moderate
Advantages: Good damage and high speed, 200 ammo, good for spraying
Good Against: Anyone with less that 50 health
Disadvantages: Eats ammo like a fat boy with a plate of Big Macs
Bad Against: High health players on even footing
Picture:
Auxiliary 1: K-Bar Knife (See Recon)
Auxiliary 2: Claymore Mines
Damage: High
Advantages: Good base protection, 1-hit recon kill
Good Against: Recons
Disadvantages: Can be set off by grenades, only 2 mines, cannot be replenished by support
Bad Against: Heavys
Picture:
Snake's Take: This class is made for defense, as the grenade launcher is set to take out incoming charges of enemies and to stop hidden recons from wreaking havox with their mines. This is NOT an offensive class, due to the fact that no Mauler weapons can take out anyone on high ground.
Recommended for players of Moderate-High Skill.
Please give constructive criticism, this is my first guide and I would like to get better at it.
Enjoy!

Re: Overview of PT Classes
Hmm, not bad of a guide for a new guide maker. Very in depth, even adding your own suggestions and opinions. I would say it is not bad. Just add some screenies to make it a bit more attractive.

Re: Overview of PT Classes
SolidSnake, there's an awesome guide you have there. Can I make for you a title. Like, I do GFX, so I can use my GFX skills to make an attractive headline for your guide, SolidSnake!

Re: Overview of PT Classes
It's good but yeah definatley need screenies. I got tired after assault because it's only text, but if you get screenies it will be very good

I think you are referring to ReconReaper's standard guide to all classes, right? Well, it is similar, but that guide doesn't have the mauler, so it is still rather different.

Re: Overview of PT Classes
You shouldn't post the "Recommended" skill level thingy.
And get rid of the "snake's take". Let people be unique, not copy you.

Re: Overview of PT Classes
One thing I don't really understand is how the Assault class is for low-moderate skill people. I mean, Assaults take some good aiming to take out other assaults and heavies especially for their gunning.

Re: Overview of PT Classes
Well, its for beginners cuz of the accurate gun and the big grenade supply. However, I see your point, which is why it is also for moderate skill level.

Re: Overview of PT Classes
uh... no. Assault is a very easy to use class, and it is also very difficult to use correctly.
